Making Kumon's method click with parents before the first worksheet
A globally respected learning method that was hard for new parents to understand from the outside, no matter how well it worked once enrolled.
The challenge
Kumon's method works, decades of results prove it, but the pitch — self-paced worksheets building toward mastery — is hard to sell to a parent comparing it against flashier, more immediately gratifying learning apps. The brand's credibility was strongest with people already inside it, weakest with people deciding whether to start.
We rebuilt the parent-facing story around the specific moments where the method's slow-build approach pays off — the visible jump in confidence, not just the worksheet completed — using real center and family stories instead of abstract claims about the method's philosophy.
Enrollment inquiries grew as the value of the method became clearer earlier in the parent's decision process, and retention past the critical early months improved as expectations were set correctly from the first conversation.
